BedsideHarbor
Know when they sit up in bed
BedsideHarbor turns a spare iPhone or iPad on the nightstand into a bedside monitor. When your loved one sits up, your own phone alerts you, even from another room. A little more peace of mind through the night.
BedsideHarbor is in limited beta testing now, free while you test. To join, email [email protected].
What it does
-
Sit-up alert
Your phone alerts you when the person in bed sits up, even from another room.
-
Light-on alert
Know when a bedside lamp comes on in the night.
-
Listen in
Hear the room through the bedside phone's microphone, from your own phone.
-
Reply messages
Record a short message in your own voice. When you answer an alert, it plays on the bedside phone.
How it works
-
A Bedside Monitor
An iPhone or iPad on a charger on the nightstand, facing the bed. It watches for sitting up and has no controls of its own.
-
Your phone, as a Caregiver Device
Your iPhone or iPad gets the alerts, shows what the monitor sees, and holds all the settings. Other caregivers can join too.
-
Paired with a code
The bedside phone scans a code on your phone. After that they connect only to each other, over your home WiFi.
Joining the beta
-
What you need
Two iPhones or iPads on iOS 17 or later: a spare one for the bedside, and your own. Both on the same home WiFi. For now, alerts reach you only while you're at home.
